If you do not want to use a table, you may use the following array
function:

The numbers in the rightmost brackets are the numerical codes
equivalent to letter grades.

=CHAR(SUM(--(A2{0,48,64,79,94})*--(A2<{50,65,80,95,101})*{70,68,67,66,65}))

Where A2 has the number grade.
enter the formula and press contrl + shift + enter.
