Anita,
Assuming that:

1. Entries in column A in Sheet1 are A, B, C, or D.

2. In Sheet2 you have the following:

A B
1 A $100
2 B $200
3 C $300
4 D $400

In cell B1 on Sheet1 you enter the following:

=VLOOKUP(A1,Sheet2!$A$1:$B$4,2,FALSE)

You will get the corresponding cost for the letter selected in cell A1.

Copy this formula down the appropriate rows in column B.

have a column that represent the Cost for the action which I have on another
