I have two sets of DTDs. Is there any way Excel 2003, can look at the two
and discern the differences?

I'm new to XML, so I don't know if this is even a valid question for Excel
2003.

For example, DTD-1A may have more "fields" than DTD-1B.

Any recommendations for tools (free shareware) that might be able to handle
this?
