I have exactly the same problem with Excel XP (xl2002).

I have used my Office XP CD to "Detect & Repair" and to "Reinstall" but
with
no effect.

My only other course will be to uninstall and then reinstall - but I want
to
know why this is happening!

Do you have any VBE addins installed?

I'm not sure but I had some freezes with Smart Indenter v3.3,
that disappeared when I installed v3.4 (rel.Nov 5th)
