Default Virtual Memory Error when running Excel

Justin,
I just read in the exceltips newsletter (www.exceltips.com) that XL2000 and
earlier had only 64MB of heap memory, but XL2002 has 128M and XL2003 has
1GB.

Decision Models has some interesting info on this. Check out :
http://www.decisionmodels.com/ under Bottlenecks/Size for more memory info.

Just a thought - I would not be surprised if the NG gods were to suggest
that you use MS Access to hold the heavy data files. Have you considered
this?

Best of Luck (you may need it),
Alex J

Alex,

Thanks for the response. My user decided to add more data to the file
and it is now up to 54MB. I have tried looking for the files and I can
find a few, but not to many. Now we are getting an Excel out of memory
instead of Virtual Memory errors. I'm pretty sure this is a lost cause
on this file, but is the next logical step just to make linked files or
is there something else we should shoot for? Thanks.

Justin
