Default Calculations

I may be displaying massive ignorance but my 2 cents say "Celeron". There
is a reason it is cheaper than a "normal" Pentium, and I believe it is in
the math processors (or lack of), although that is a larger difference than
i would have expected.

Good afternoon,

Could somebody explain me the problem I have:

I have old PC bought in July 01 with AMD Thunderbird 1,33 Mhz processor

and
RAM 512 Mb and Office 2000.

When I run a certain VBA program in excel which calculates through 30
sheets 8 col * 2500 rows in each sheet running time is about 60 seconds.

Now, I bought a new PC with Intel D845GVSR MATX mainboard, Celeron 2,4

Mhz,
RAM 512 Mb and Office 2003.

The same VBA application takes 240 seconds in the new machine, four times
more.

How come?

Appreciate much for the relevant information,

timo
