for only three different colors this would be feasible using 'Format -
conditional Format'
Just choose the color as background format and choose a white font
color.
If you have more than three colors you'll need VBA (an event procedure)

I don't know if this is possible, but I was curious if there was a
way
for a user to choose a color (Red, Green, etc.) from a DV drop down,
and then have that cell become solidly the color that they choose.
For example the choose green from the list and then instead of saying
the word Green in the cell, the cell just become green. Thanks
