Perfect sense. Use this:
Count: =SUMPRODUCT(--(TEXT($A$10:$A$15,"MMM")=A3))
Sum: =SUMPRODUCT((TEXT($A$10:$A$15,"MMM")=A3)*($B$10:$B $15))
