Default How do I restore cell gridlines lost after coloring a cell?

Highlight the cells you want to restore grid line after removing the colour. On the "Home" tab, click on theme colour and select "no fill" (the icon below the standard colour). Unhighlight the cells. Voila!

While working on my Excel worksheet I sometimes color cells. When the cell
is returned to white the gridlines for those specific cells are gone. How
can I restore them?

Hi,

White is a colour and it hides the gridlines. When you remove the colour
select 'No Fill' and not white.

Don't "return it to white"... use either None or No Fill (which of the two
is available).

I have been battling a similar problem that I would like to maintain the
gridlines when cells are colored. I do not like adding borders. Is it possible?

For Alan

Don't color the cells white. Set them to no color or automatic.

For Rosa

Not possible.

Gord, thanks for the disappointing answer. At least I will stop trying.
