Double and Multiple Lookup Using the MATCH Function
Microsoft Excell 2003
Double and Multiple Lookup Using the MATCH Function The & symbol can be used to induce double and multiple lookup within the MATCH function. The method to do this is shown below. Given that: The first look-up range is A1:A10 The second look-up range is B1:B10 The value to be returned is in the range C1:C10 The first value to look-up is in cell D1 The second value to look-up is in cell E1 Enter the following as an array formula (Ctrl+Shift+Enter): =INDEX(C1:C10,MATCH(D1&E1,A1:A10&B1:B10,0)) If properly entered, it will display as: {=INDEX(C1:C10,MATCH(D1&E1,A1:A10&B1:B10,0))} This information should be included in the help files. ---------------- This post is a suggestion for Microsoft, and Microsoft responds to the suggestions with the most votes.
