Default Sorting & sub-totaling data on an excel spreadsheet

I have several columns of data that I need to subtotal based on a change in
one of the columns.
Example
Column A = ELX-1111, Column B = 45
Column A = ELX-1111, Column B = 15
Column A = ELX-2222, Column B = 10
Column A = ELX-5555, Column B = 50
Every time there is a change in the data in Column A, I need a subtotal in
Column B.
Hope someone can help.

Yes, use Excel's Subtotal feature. That's what it was designed for. It's
under DataSubtotal.

Regards,
Fred.

A common error, one we've all made. If you think finding things in XL2003 is
difficult, wait until you get to 2007.

Glad to help,
Fred.
