I have two sheets in excel. Sheet #2 has info in A1 through Af, 400 items
listed down, all items have a unique number. When I enter that number in
sheet one how do I get it to pull all the info from sheet 2 onto sheet 1?

Use VLOOKUP. It's really simple to set up and once you've got the hang
of it you'll wonder how you ever managed to live without it.

Until you find INDEX/MATCH of course! ;-)
