And you can use this to find where that XLStart folder should be:
Open excel hit alt-f8 to get to the VBE hit ctrl-g to see the immediate window type this and hit enter: ?application.startuppath Make a note of it and store your personal.xls in that folder. The XLSTART folder is in the same folder as you invoke Excel from.
The easiest way is to record a macro and then find that copy of your personal.xls and with Excel down you can copy your old personal.xls to new location (delete the one you generated). --- HTH, David McRitchie, Microsoft MVP - Excel [site changed Nov. 2001] My Excel Pages: http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/excel.htm Search Page: http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/search.htm "JHL" wrote in message ... Did you find it or not? Normally the XLSTART folder is in (assuming an
install on C: drive) c:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office11 "JHL" wrote: Thanks to each one that responded. Apparently, the XLSTART is hidden or no one used any macros.
