Default Strange error

Hi Everyone,

Can you please help me solve this problem.

If I try to open an Excel file by double clicking on it does not open. The
action causes Excel to open but all the controls are greyed out and you
can't click on them. Then I have to go File Open and everything works.

Any ideas what could be causing this?
I can't reinstall as I have lost the disk.

I am using Office XP.

Many thanks.

Anguel

In excel, click on Tools|Options, and on the General tab, untick "Ignaore
other applications"
