Excel XP. column headings are numeric I want alpha

I have XP professional. My column headings are "named" numeric (i.e. 1, 2,
3) NOT alpha (i.e. A, B, C) I want to change them. How do I change column
headings back to A, B, C etc.?

and then clear the R1C1 checkbox
