Installing Excell Feature Problem
A few days ago I had to enable an add-in in my Excel program, specifically
the Analysis Tool pack. Ever since then, every time I start Excel, I get a pop-up message which is titled "Installing components for Microsoft Excel" and I have to wait till it goes through the process of "Installing: Microsoft Excel Feature". I have tried unselecting the Analyis Tool Pack and also ran a "repair" of my Excel installation, all to no avail. Could someone please help me with this very ennoying problem. Thanks and best regards, Art |
Installing Excell Feature Problem
Hi ArtLab- You can change the Windows Installer serivce to manual or disable
it entirely. Control Panel, Administartive Tools, Services, Windows Installer, Startup type- Manual or disable. Apply. Changing this may solve the problem, but you may get some weird messages when you add/remove software... just turn service back to automatic/manual. More elaborate fixes that keep installer enabled include getting the latest version of Windows Installer, re-registering Windows Installer, reinstalling Excel, etc...
