change standard column width

change column width
 
i want to change the standard column witdh from 8.43 to other value
i want this setting to be saved in the excel program not in the xls file
all supported files to be opend with the new column width

Cannot be done unless you create a Template with the settings you wish.

Only newly-created files will have the settings.

Existing files will have to be altered one by one as you open them.

Save the workbook/template as Book.XLT and place it in your Office\XLSTART
folder. You can also make a Sheet.XLT and this will be your InsertWorksheet
default. Place it also in XLSTART folder.
