Excel column/row set up

I have received several spread sheets from Russian associates that are set
up in a different format with both column and rows listed in numbers instead
of numbers for rows and letters for columns.

I am not at all familiar with how to create formulas with the above set up,
so I wish to convert back to what I consider to be the USA standard with
both numbers and letters. How do I make this conversion? I cannot find this
in Excel help, but must be looking in the wrong places.

Thank you
