Tab button not working properly

I'm using Excel 2000, and for no apparent reason the Tab button has mysteriously stopped working properly. Instead of moving 1 cell to the right it now moves me to the next of the 1st, 16th, 31st, 46th, 61st... column. CTRL+left or right does the same thing. CTRL+up or down seems to work properly. I've got Excel 97 on my machine as well and that seems to work fine.

Any ideas.

Hi Mike,
Turn off transition navigation.
Tools, Options, transition, turn off navigation

Turn off all Lotus 1-2-3 transition options, they will only
mess you up. Learn to use Ctrl+Home to get you to
cell A1.

Excellent. That was getting to be seriously irritating. Thanks for the help.

Hi Mike,
You're welcome, but please reply within a thread (IF POSSIBLE)
instead of as a new posting to the newsgroup. Though maybe
that is excelbanter's fault because you are quoting the
posting you are referring to but their is no reference to
the previous posting.

Another "forum" with no work on the site probably with the hopes
of generating revenue for doing nothing, reproducing what
is available on the actual newsgroups and archived in Google,
and making additional archive copies in Google that make searching
websites not much different from seaching newsgroups.
Google archives newsgroups separately from websites, but
can't distinguish websites from newsgroup replicators.

You would do a lot better search Excel newsgroups for answers,
and connecting directly to excel newsgroups.
