Allow "stacking" or "grouping" of tabs in excel
Just a suggestion.
When working with large multi-tab excel files, it would be nice to be able to arrange tabs in a meaningful way - grouping or stacking or inserting spacers. Also, tab shapes and fonts should be flexible. ---------------- This post is a suggestion for Microsoft, and Microsoft responds to the suggestions with the most votes. I guess Microsoft would suggest you go with Excel 2002 with colored tabs.
Multiple layers of tabs is not available in any version. My feeling is that colored tabs have nothing or very little to do with organization. You can name your tabs so that they can be organized by sorting them. ie. k.key words, k.shortcuts You can sort your worksheet tabs with a macro, see SortALLsheets SortAllSheets -- The following code will sort sheet tabs (#sortallsheets) within "Build Table of Contents, similar listings, working with Hyperlinks" http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel...#sortallsheets You can also rightclick on the navigation arrows to the left of the worksheet tabs to see a list of worksheet tabs if you have only a few, or on the "More sheets" within that list to see them all -- it helps if you've sorted your worksheet tabs as above, and you can use a macro to bring up the "more sheets" in a more direct fashion.. http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/dialog.htm using a suggestion from Chip Pearson. --- HTH, David McRitchie, Microsoft MVP - Excel [site changed Nov. 2001] My Excel Pages: http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/excel.htm Search Page: http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/search.htm "djdima" wrote in message ...
