I have just upgraded from 2003 to 2007 office at the same time as
getting new computer with Windows 7. I have eventualyl located the commands on the ribbon but I have one problem with Excel 2003 when I clicked on the X in the top right hand corner of Excel it closed all the open workbooks. I could use the X at the top right hand corner of the actual worksheet to close cuurent one only. With 2007 when I use the main X it only closes the current and not all open worksheets According to help it is supposed to close all open worksheets the same as 2003 but this does not happen. Has anyone got any ideas how to fix this or is it a new " feature" DJT |

Hi DJT I do not see the problem that you seem to be seeing in EXCEL 2007.
If I open a file that has 10 tabs and then click on the X in the far top right hand corner I get a warning (Do I want to save changes etc - even though I have not made any) which, if I select no, brings down the whole EXCEL session. If my comments have helped please hit Yes. Thanks. "DJT" wrote: I have just upgraded from 2003 to 2007 office at the same time as getting new computer with Windows 7. I have just conducted a further test with 2 multiple tab Workbooks open in
one EXCEL session. Clicking on X in the far top right hand corner will bring down both Workbooks (one by one) and the session as well so what you say:- "With 2007 when I use the main X it only closes the current and not all open worksheets" - does not seem to be 100% correct. Please hit Yes if my comments have helped. Thanks. "DJT" wrote: I have just upgraded from 2003 to 2007 office at the same time as getting new computer with Windows 7. What you are seeing is what is supposed to happen.
When I do it, I get asked 'do I want to save xxxx.xlsx'. When I answer yes, it still leaves the other worksheets open. With Excell 2003 the question would have an option to close all worksheets, but I don't get that with 2007 DJT On Mon, 28 Dec 2009 01:34:01 -0800, trip_to_tokyo wrote: I have just conducted a further test with 2 multiple tab Workbooks open in one EXCEL session. I did look at the help 'Close Workbooks or workbook windows" and it
states that ' To close all workbooks that are open, you can close the Excel window or exit Excel.' My problem is that close the Excel window is what does not work. I can gotto exit Excel and that closes all the windows but the other does not work DJT On Mon, 28 Dec 2009 13:17:01 -0800, trip_to_tokyo wrote: lJT there is a Help topic called:- Close workbooks or workbook windows Search on the above to get a full Microsft explanation.
