Excel 2003 problem

I am operating with Windows XP. I have loaded the Office 2003 software on my
laptop. All programs work fine except for Excel. When I open an Excel
document or the basic program file, the Windows Installer box pops up with a
message "Preparing to Install". It runs for about a minutes then goes away.
The program still works, but the pop up is annoying. How can I fix this?

Maybe you do not have a folder called
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\XLSTART

It will be located here
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\
If XLSTART is not there then create the forlder
