Excel 2007 and Name Conflict Issue

I currently have Office 2007 and when I try to open an excel file created in
Excel 2003, I get the message: "Name Conflict...Name cannot be the same as a
built in name. Old Name: Print_Area."

Why is this coming up and what is the resolution? I heard there is a patch
for this but can't find it.

Thanks!

Do you get a prompt to use a new name?

If you do, then use a nice unique name (My_Print_Area).

After you opened the file, go into page setup and make sure that the print area
is what you want for each sheet.

Yes, I get a prompt to use a new name. I do so and it works but is there a
way to prevent the pop up message from coming up in the first place?

Thanks!

If xl2007 thinks it has a name conflict, then I don't think you can do anything
to prevent it. But the prompt doesn't appear after you assign the new name,
save, close, and reopen--right?

For Excel 97, I must key in different new names 5 times in order to open it.

Thanks

But after you do that typing once and save the file, then you're not prompted
ever again, right?
