Shortcut couldn't open Excel file
I'm running Windows 2000 Profesional platform and on it Office 2000.
Recently I changed 19" LCD Flat monitor and installed the driver for it. Unfortunately the Excel program was running during driver installation. After that date the shortcut for my Excel files that I normaly click to work on the file is not opening. Error message indicates that the path is broken. I recreated the shortcut and still it doesn't open the file. However, If I open the Execl program and file open, then I can work on it. Please help to work the files by using shortcut. Thanks Joe |
Shortcut couldn't open Excel file
Sometimes one of these works when you're having trouble with double clicking on
the file in windows explorer: Tools|Options|General|Ignore other applications (uncheck it) --- or --- Close Excel and Windows Start Button|Run excel /unregserver then Windows Start Button|Run excel /regserver The /unregserver & /regserver stuff resets the windows registry to excel's factory defaults. Maybe one of these will work for you. JOE wrote: I'm running Windows 2000 Profesional platform and on it Office 2000. Recently I changed 19" LCD Flat monitor and installed the driver for it.
