Sort column by second word in cells
First & last name are entered in the cells of column A.
Anyone aware of a procedure that will sort column A by the second word in thr cells (last name)? Or perhaps, a procedure that will reverse the position of the 2 words in each cell (move last name to the first position)? Or finally, move one of the names into a second cell? (for a column with about 3,000 entries) Grasping for straws.... |
Sort column by second word in cells
Generally you would swap the names around using a formula or use DataText to
Columns to split into two separate columns. To swap see Chip Pearson's site for formulas http://www.cpearson.com/excel/FirstLast.htm If just two names in the cell I would suggest that Text to Columns with a space delimiter would be the easiest.
