How can I have a zero in a blank cell at start up

I would like to format a spreadsheet with a zero in all the cells that does
not have data in them.

Is this possible without a formular?

So should an empty sheet should display 65536 x 256 cells with zeros?
That might be about 42K sheets of paper (84 reams). with 50 rows x 8 columns per page.
