2 questions - one about inserting the date, other about adding lines.
hey, im making a timeline plan for school, and when i enter the date such as 3/2/06 it autocorrects it and changes it to 03/02/2006 which i dont have enough room for. is there a way so it doesnt automatically change it? and the other is ive already typed up my table, disregarding the fact that the grey lines between each cell dont get printed. so how do i add these lines so when i print it it comes out as a table, and can i customise these lines? thanks for your help. -- FAJITA ------------------------------------------------------------------------ FAJITA's Profile: http://www.excelforum.com/member.php...o&userid=36403 View this thread: http://www.excelforum.com/showthread...hreadid=561814 |

Hi
For the date format, then FormatCellsNumberCustom and enter in the white pane d/m/yy if you mean 3 Feb 06, or m/d/yy if you mean 2 Mar 06 To get the borders to cells either FilePage SetupSheet check Print Gridlines or Mark your range of data the FormatCellsBorderchoose border style -- Regards Roger Govier "FAJITA" wrote in message ... hey, im making a timeline plan for school, and when i enter the date such as 3/2/06 it autocorrects it and changes it to 03/02/2006 which i dont have enough room for. is there a way so it doesnt automatically change it? and the other is ive already typed up my table, disregarding the fact that the grey lines between each cell dont get printed. so how do i add these lines so when i print it it comes out as a table, and can i customise these lines? thanks for your help. -- FAJITA ------------------------------------------------------------------------ FAJITA's Profile: http://www.excelforum.com/member.php...o&userid=36403 View this thread: http://www.excelforum.com/showthread...hreadid=561814 |

Try formatting the cells with the date. Go format Custom DD/MM/YY The gridlines can be printed. Go to print preview. Setup and then the Sheet tab. There's a option to print sheet. The other way is to outline the area with a border. You an have the text configured to run vertically.
charcters don't have to be of the same font, nor size. some can be bold italic etc Plenty of possibilites On Sun, 16 Jul 2006 12:02:06 +0100, FAJITA wrote: im sorry i didnt really understand that at all, but it doesnt matter, i figred out a way around it. thanks anyway -- Steve (3) |
