Help feature in Excel should have more "pictures" to guide.
 

The overall Excel experience is EXCELLENT. However, I spent most of the last
2 days trying to learn something quite simple- which would have been saved if
a) I had known where to search
b) The search/ help button should have "visuals" instead of just tax.
c) I suffered trying to crack it, and ultimately got it today.

More visuals on how and where to click to do something will make it very easy

I agree with your point, and I personally would like also to see more
"examples" given in the help file. But, in the future, please do not spend 2
days working on an Excel problem.....instead, post your question here, and
someone will help.

I kind of thought a Google search on "help with help" including the
quotes so it is searched on as a phrase would have helped, but it didn't.

The best way of using help is to try to find something in HELP after you've
just learned the answer. Well perhaps just hammering away at help like
the poster did is the best way. My suggestion is a little bit easier enjoy.

Also if you look at the left most tab in help you will see that HELP is
really a book and you can sead through sections for more information.

If you have Excel 2003 they took away the index. What good is a (reference) book
without an index. Fortunately at least it is on the computer and you can
use search (Answer Wizard tab).

If you type i -- help with help -- into the answer wizard you come up with a
lot of references and guidelines In fact it is probably no surprise that
you get the same listings if you just type help into the answer wizard.
