Default Row Height in Excel 2003
This may have been covered before - and apologies if so - but I can't change
the default row height from 12.75 to 15.00 each time I open excel 2003. I have tried saving as book1.xlt , book.xlt and even renaming the original book1.xlt to bookold.xlt but still when I open up excel the default row height remains 12.75 Would really appreciate if someone could either let me know how to do this or if version 2003 won't let you! I know I did it in version 97 |

Where are you saving BOOK.XLT? It must be saved into your XLSTART folder, usually at C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Microsoft\Excel\XLSTART When you go to FileNew the workbook opened will be based upon that template. You can also make a SHEET.XLT and store it same folder. That will be the Template for any InsertWorksheet. Thanks for taking the time to reply, but it don't work for me!! I did
locate the .xlt file and did a "save as" thus overwriting, but when I closed excel and re-opened there was the blessed 12.75 row hight still small as life!! As I say, perhaps it can't be changed in 2003 as in 97. Cheers Derek |

Open a new blank workbook from FileNew...Blank workbook Select all sheets by right-click on a sheet tab and "select all sheets". CTRL + a(twice) to select all cells. FormatRowHeight. Set to 15 Right-click on a shee tab and "ungroup sheets". FileSave AsFile TypeTemplate(*.xlt) Browse to the correct XLSTART folder(there can be several on your computer) The correct XLSTART folder will be at C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Microsoft\Excel\XLSTART username will be your name in the path. Type in BOOK. Excel will add the .XLT Close Excel then re-open and check the row heights. NOTE: FileNew...Blank Workbook will not be based upon the BOOK.XLT template. FileNew(no ellipsis) will be based on BOOK.XLT New File Icon will be based upon BOOK.XLT Gord On Thu, 1 Dec 2005 11:07:24 -0600, "derek wrote: Thanks for taking the time to reply, but it don't work for me!!
