drop down list
I have a subcontractor data worksheet. Column A is titled "scope" and
Column B is titled "Contractor Name". This is a "master" list so it contains all types of subcontractors, each one identified by their scope (ex. concrete, electrical, plumbing, etc.) On a separate worksheet named project data, there are several coulmns with various titles (ex. concrete sub, electrical sub, plumbing sub, etc.). What I would like to be able to do is insert a custom formula into the validation source box that would look at my named master list on the subcontractor data sheet, check for a "text" criteria in the scope column (ex. concrete) and populate the drop down list with each Contractor Name that matches the scope of concrete. I have a feeling that lookup() or Vlookup() is involved, but I can't make it work. Any suggestions? Duby |
