I have a spread sheet set up in Excel 2007 and in column AT I have a list of
numbers. All are lined up nicely on the extreme left of the column except
one, the number 2, which sits in line with the others until I leave the box
and it then jumps to the extreme right of the column. All but this one has
a little green triangle in the top left hand corner of its box. Can you
remedy this? I should add that I have made the default setting for
text/numbers.

real numbers are right in the cell. If the numbers are on the left side,
the numbers are text formatted. Therefore you see the green triangle.
Write a 1 in an empty cell, copy this cell, select your numbers and
choose paste special = Multiply.

Sorry, but that did not work. I got to Paste Special and Paste as Unicode
Text was revealed. I clicked OK and a little suitcase parked itself in the
correctly placed '2' cell. As you will have gathered I am not much into
this so would you kindly talk me through it with a little more detail. =
Multipy did not reveal itself. In short I have 4 columns of numbers namely
at columns B, D, AT and AS and all of them except one are on the left hand
side of the cell. The first two columns have numbers 21/12 or similar and
the last two columns comprise single or double digits. Thanks.

I tried to send a copy of the workbook in an e-mail message as an attachment
but I got the error: General mail failure. Quit Microsoft Office Excel,
restart the mail system and try again. I also tried Print Screen but failed
there and that was the case when trying to 'send' it from my documents. I
may have to settle with the text format. I note that the conversion from
text to numbers works in this practice site, but it did not work properly
