I have not found a book that qualifies as "good" in my opinion. My
expectations are based on the early UNIX, BSD and C references. The PC
industry never rose to that level of quality.

That said, John Walkenbach's "Power Programming with VBA" is the best I have
found.

Its organization leaves much to be desired, and it is poorly indexed, IMHO.
But it does contain a lot of good information, though you might never find
it again after you have read past it ;-).

BTW, I see that Walkenbach has written a "For Dummies" book: "Excel VBA
Programming for Dummies".

I have never seen that book. But generally, the "For Dummies" series is a
good starting point because usually, only the basic and essential
information is presented in a by-example manner.

Be sure to look at both books -- really any book -- at a brick-and-mortar
store before purchasing. If it's not on the shelf, Barnes & Noble will
order "any" book for a look-see.

(Which is probably why B&N is going bankrupt. ;-)
