Default creating a estimating template

hello all,

im new to excel and need to create a estimating system for my painting business.

so ill be needing a 5 cell equasion which would be length x heigh = sqm x price per sqm = dollar amount total

where should i start for this.. is there any tutorials u could recommend based on my simple requirements ? thansk

Simplest terms..........

A1...........length
B1..........height
C1..........price/sqm

D1..........=A1*B1*C1 returns amount total

Hi, if you put the width in metres in A1, height in metres in B1 and cost per square metre in C1 and the formula =(A1*B1)*C1 in cell D1, that will give you the cost for the job.

thank you all so much ! i really appreciate the help you guys have given me special thanks also for putting it all together for me Mazzaropi !!

ill have a tinker with it as it is perfect for what i was after just have to add some more columes for walls , ceilings etc but i think by the example ill have a basic understanding :D

hey just got a question lol

is it possible to completely delete the colums i wont be using once template has been made ? as ill be using this on a tablet pc and would like it to perfectly fit the screen so if i wont be needing colum ghijk can those be deleted from the spread sheet ?
