Calculating overtime
I've already figured out how to enter employee's time, but now I want to have it return anything 40 hours and below into one cell and all hours over 40 into another. Any ideas? -- jennerifw ------------------------------------------------------------------------ jennerifw's Profile: http://www.excelforum.com/member.php...o&userid=26071 View this thread: http://www.excelforum.com/showthread...hreadid=394076 |

A very simple approach could be this. In Cell C1 (for example), enter this formula, =IF(B1<=40,B1,\"\") where Cell B1 contains the employee hours. This formula means that if the total employee hours in Cell B1 is equal to or less than 40, then it will appear in Cell C1. Otherwise, if this condition is not true, Cell C1 will just be blank. On Cell D1, enter this formula =IF(B140,B1,\"\") again, where Cell B1 contains the employee hours. This formula means that if the condition (Employee hours 40) is met, then Cell D1 will show the employee hours. And, if this condition is not met, Cell D1 will be empty. Hope this will help you. To get hours over 40 using time format
=MAX(D1-"40:00",0) if you are using integers replace "40:00" with 40 for 40 and lower =MIN(--"40:00",D1) -- Regards, Peo Sjoblom (No private emails please) "jennerifw" wrote in message ...
