How do I format cells in excel to allow me to hit return key ?
I am trying to type several lines of text into a cell on a worksheet and when
I come to the end of the first sentence, and hit return, it automatically places the curser in the next cell instead of going to the next line in the same cell. Please help! |
To put a "hard carriage return" in a string of text
Hold down the [alt] key when you press [Enter] Does that help? -- Regards, Ron "excel novice" wrote: I am trying to type several lines of text into a cell on a worksheet and when I come to the end of the first sentence, and hit return, it automatically places the curser in the next cell instead of going to the next line in the same cell.
