how do I substract
 

I am new to this. I am trying to do balance sheets. I need to add the rows
(which I have been able to do) then substract the 2 columns. I cannot
remember how to make the cells substract.

To subtract one cell from another you would enter a formula in a third cell.

=A1-B1

You can also subtract ranges as in

=SUM(A1:A10)-SUM(B1:B10)
