why would a value in a cell as shown here 8212.0011( return a value of
8212.00110000.00 when the ( character was deleted from the cell? The version of excel is 2007 and the os is XP. Is there a regional setting controlling this? |

8212.0011 is numeric and not text. You say are deleting a text character
from 8212.0011? ozgrid, I think you may have missed the "(" from the question.
I believe that there may be custom formatting applied to the cell. Try changing the format to number with the number of decimal places you wish to see. Where is the open Parenthesis in relation to the number: 8212.0011
