highlighted cells
I have cells in excell that when I click on one cell a group of cells will
highlight. The only way I can avoid this is to use the arrow. The problem is if I want a group of cells different than what excell is trying to highlight, I can't select them. |

Just 3 or 4 cells or does it continue to select more as you drag around?
If the latter hit the the F8 key to toggle out of Extended mode. If the former and using Excel 2007, try setting your Zoom level up or down a few points.
