Default HLOOKUP: specify table array in a cell

I am looking to specify the range of cells for the table_array in a cell.

For example:
=HLOOKUP("ABC", A1, 5, 0)
where A1 would contain the info on my range of cells in a different notebook.

How would I do this?
Thanks
