Sort 1 column and another changes

Sorting Problem is explained in example 2. Example 1 is the control. It is
when I do something different in example 2. Example 1: Column "A" has title
- Letters. Column "B" has a title - Numbers. I fill column "A" with the
"letters" from A to F. I fill Column "B" with random numbers such as€¦ 43,
1.6, 57, and 9. I want to keep my random numbers€¦ as is in column B. All is
good!

Repeat, I put the title €“ Letters in Column E and Numbers in Column F. I
HIGHLIGHT COLUMNS E & F €“ CURSE IS IN THE NUMBERS COLUNM €“ F. When I sort the
numbers in column - F, also€¦ column B €“ Numbers changes as well. You can see
what I want. I want to sort column F numbers without changing Column B €“
Numbers. What is the search for my problem?

Sort 1 column and another changes

Hi

When you sort the col F select the cells up to the data and on the menubar
you will find a sort button saying A/Z and arrow would be downwards. Click
this button and a window will open giving two options. 1) expand the
selection range. 2) continue with the current selection.
If you choose option 1) both col E&F will be sorted as per col F and if you
choose option 2) only col F will be sorted and nothing will change on the
other side of the tables.

Try and let us know.

Sorting a set of columns

Excel 2007: When I sort the col F (numbers)... "up to the data" (not a clear
picture).
I put the cursor in the top number cell (F) and use the shift key to
highlight both letter & number columns? The options you mentioned in sort
menu, are you referencing Excel 2007? Expand sorting range, I do not see.
Its A to Z, Z to A or custom sort. The objective is to sort letters & numbers
by a value of numbers.

A-2, B-7 & C-3 becomes B-7, C-3 & A-2. I can sort numbers - that does not
tell me anything of use. Please, let me hear from you. There is a data tab.
My answer is there?
