saving a data item

How do I save the results of a cell so that when I restart the work sheet
will automatically reload that data value into a cell for reuse? I using
Excell 2000 at the moment. Thanks for your help.

I'm not sure I understand the question. Aren't the results of the cell
available when you reopen Excel?

Just another guess ..

You can do an "in-place" Copy n Paste Special as Values
to freeze formulae returned values in cells/ranges if desired

If your formulae uses RAND/RANDBETWEEN, these will recalculate to new values
eg whenever you re-open the file, unless you freeze it prior to saving
