In xl2003 menus:
Tools|Options|Edit tab|Uncheck Fixed decimal places. This is a useful setting for the accountant types -- not so much for me! dan wrote: How do I restore the number format for excel? Somehow you Excel is set to add decimals.
In XL2003 and earlier: Tools | Options | Edit and uncheck "Fixed Decimals" In XL2007 Office | Excel Options| Advanced | editing options and uncheck "Automatically insert decimal" best wishes -- Bernard V Liengme Microsoft Excel MVP http://people.stfx.ca/bliengme remove caps from email "dan" wrote in message ...
