Being a complete newbie here, my question is as follows.
I have created a spreadsheet for our Little League baseball team by position and inning. In each cell I have created a dropdown menu that lists each of our 11 players by name so that all I have to do is select the players name and it fills in that cell for that position/inning. What I would like this drop down menu to do, if possible, is as I move down the player position (in a single inning) and choose a players name to fill that position, the dropdown menu then removes that players name in the next position to be filled. EX: * 1st inning, pitcher [dropdown menu lists players A-K] - I select A * 1st inning, 1st base [dropdown menu now only lists B-K] - I select F * 1st inning, 2nd base [dropdown menu now only lists B-E, G-K] Hopefully this makes sense :) Thanks in advance for your help.... There's a sample file here in which you can list the players and
positions, then select players for each inning. http://www.contextures.com/excelfiles.html Under Data Validation, look for 'DV0051 - Assign Players Each Inning' For a variation on this technique, with lists that don't show blank cells, there are instructions he http://www.contextures.com/xlDataVal03.html FSUgly wrote: Being a complete newbie here, my question is as follows.
