editing excel templates
What problem are you having with editing them now? Ordinarily you simply
locate the .xlt file, open it, edit it and save back out as .xlt template file. But some templates with macros or other special features may be protected, either at the worksheet or code project level(s) with passwords, in which case you'll need to get those portions needing editing unprotected before changes can be made.
