Hi Ron

Thankyou for responding.
It applies when I open either a new or an existing Excel spreadsheet. Once
opened all I see is a clear blue screen with no content.
The problem is probably down to me but I can't see how.

Thanks
Mike

There are a few reports of a problem like this

do you see something like "Preview: page 187..........."
on the bottem of the screen and on top of the screen on the left "Ready"

Let me know if you see this or not

..Ron

I have just opened an Excel spreadsheet and it opens correctly, however, I
note that the three page layout options (normal, page layout, page break) and
the Zoom option are at the bottom of the page wheras when I have the problem
they are at the top.
I have just closed the document and reopened and I have the problem again.
It's as if the page is inverted and inside out but with only the page layout
functions showing at the top.

Hi Mike

Ok, this is the same bug a few others have.
This is a known problem and Microsoft is working on a solution.

If you start Excel in Safe mode is it working OK for you then ?

Close Excel first
Hold the Ctrl key when you open Excel
Say Yes in the dialog
Now open a workbook

I am having the same problem as Mike
When ever I open excel or double click on an excel file I get the blue
screen with ready in the top left.
Do I have to hold down the ctrl button and open excel everytime I want to
open excel or an excel file?

Is there a fix for this problem yet? I just got Office 2007 and not being
able to open my Excel documents is pretty annoying. I'm into efficiency and
opening the program prior to finding the file is not as efficient as being
able to double click and open the file I need. Please advise about the
availability of a hot fix.

Default Excel 2007

Hi All,

I just installed the 2007 version and I am having the same problem with
Excel. If anyone of you knows how to resolve this problem permanently, please
let me know. The Ctrl button does work but I feel that I shouldn't have to do
this everytime I open an Excel file. I am now regretting upgrading to 2007.
