what is the formula for calculating GST and deducting this amount at the same
time from the total - getting the net value is what I want to achieve with
one formula

Your request was a bit cryptic because I'm not exactly sure what GST is, but
I'll take a guess.

Net = Gross/ (1 + tax rate)

In Oz our GST is 10%

So, this will do the trick

=A1-(A1/11) will give you the original total minus GST.
