i am having a problem creating a graph with the year on the (x) asix and a value on the (y) axis. when i try and make the graph, the wizard always puts the year as a value, not as the (x) axis...
how can i make the year as the(x) axis?! thanks in advance, confused. |

Depending on how you've constructed your data in the cells
Try to select :" Rows " or " Columns " after you've defined the Source data Data Range Series In: Rows Columns "leppel" wrote: i am having a problem creating a graph with the year on the (x) asix and a value on the (y) axis. when i try and make the graph, the wizard always puts the year as a value, not as the (x) axis... how can i make the year as the(x) axis?! thanks in advance, confused. -- leppel |

for example:
Year 1980 1985 1990 1995 2000 2005 Millions of Gallon 1750 3500 4000 4000 5100 11000 this is in the spreadsheet, but it always thinks the year is a value, and puts it in the graph as "series 2", and along the x axis it just puts 1 2 3 4 5 instead of the years.... thanks in advance! |

Hi
Right click on your graph and choose Source data. Click on Series Tab Delete Series 1 Years, and juts have series for Millions. Click icon at the end of the Category (X) axis labels, and point to B1:G1 Click OK -- Regards Roger Govier "leppel" wrote in message ... for example: Year 1980 1985 1990 1995 2000 2005 Millions of Gallon 1750 3500 4000 4000 5100 11000 this is in the spreadsheet, but it always thinks the year is a value, and puts it in the graph as "series 2", and along the x axis it just puts 1 2 3 4 5 instead of the years.... thanks in advance! -- leppel |
