General mail failure
Win 2K, Office Pro 2003
Cross posted to outlook group After saving an Excel spreadsheet when I try to use the send to mail recipient as attachment in the file menu I get an error message General mail failure. Quit MS Office Excel, restart mail system and try again. I did this but there was no change. Also shut the system down and restarted. No change. I've check the MSKB and found a couple of article but they indicated they were for older version of Excel. One gave a list if entries that should be in the win.ini file. I did have all of those entries. Any help to get this functioning again would be greatly appreciated. gls858 |

Hi gls858 See http://www.rondebruin.nl/mail/problems.htm Read the Kb for 2003 Thanks Ron. I checked to make sure Outlook was my default and I check the registry. I have all of the one listed and one that isn't. InstallCmd REG_SZ rundll32 setupapi,InstallHinfSection MSMAIL 132 msmail.inf I do a lot of importing from Access and Quickbooks and it seems the problem my be related to the imported files. It's seems to be intermittent. In fact the file I was trying to send before lunch will now go just fine. Go figure. Makes me think it's a ID ten T error:-) I'm saving the file in an Excel format and then trying to send. gls858 |
