How Can I hide formula without locking it. please help

I am confused, if you hide the formula you hide the results of the formula. If you are doing this to use the results for another computation, why not incorporate your formula into the other formula? or just color the font white? FormatCells...ProtectionHidden and then protect the sheet will not show the formula in the formula bar, but I suspect that's what you don't want.
