Hi Audrey,
You could use Mail Merge with Excel as the database and Word to print, but since the card is going to be all the same you might as well just do the entire thing in MS Word, which is where you have to do your formatting, and choose the correct form, so there isn't much point to involving Excel. The problem with trying to print labels from Excel is that Excel does not provide you with Forms, and any little change you make to width or depth of cells can be critical, and may not work on another printer. If you don't have MS Word, you can do something from Excel but it is sure discouraged. For other things should you need to print from an Excel database with MS Word then I have a page on Mail Merge http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/mailmerg.htm --- HTH, David McRitchie, Microsoft MVP - Excel My Excel Pages: http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/excel.htm Search Page: http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/search.htm "audrey" wrote in message ... can you please tell me how i can make my own business cards and print them please,as a friend needs me to do some business cards up, thanks for all your help in advance -- audy |

If you have it, Publisher is the program to use for that task.

Hi Audrey..........
I make my own Business Cards in Excel. They can be simple and easy, or quite elaborate. I start by setting the columns at 1.71 wide. This makes all the cells into little squares. I then block out an area 19 rows high by 31 columns wide and put a heavy border around it. The wide border makes it easy to cut them out later, as well as giving me the outside limits to stay within for my design, and still have the card about the right size. Then go ahead and put whatever you want inside the area. I use normal text as well as Wordart and .jpg's. Once it's how you like it, you can copy and paste several times over until you have a entire page full of cards. Then just print and cut apart. I use high-gloss photo paper for mine, but you could use regular card-stock, or whatever. I don't use the pre-peforated type paper cause I figure I would have a hard time lining things up, but it might work, just never tried it. It takes a little longer to cut mine out with sissors but I don't mind.....gives me something to do while watching a boring movie on TV, and I don't wind up with a "feathered edge"...... hth Vaya con Dios, Chuck, CABGx3 "audrey" wrote in message ... can you please tell me how i can make my own business cards and print them please,as a freind needs me to do some business cards up, thanks for all your help in advance -- audy |

Why would you watch a 'boring movie'? Watching TV isn't compulsory <BG BTW, I use a scalpel and a steel ruler to cut them, I can't get a straight line with scissors. "CLR" wrote in message ... I think I saw Biff (maybe???) use it a few months ago. I've used it for
non-excel files since then. At one time (a couple of days), the site had trouble retrieving files, but that was just a one time thing. If you have files that need to be more secure, www.xDrive.com (now owned by AOL) offers a free service. You can share files with specific parties (who are registered with AOL/xDrive (also free now)). Thanks again, I will check it out. Jim Cone "Dave Peterson" wrote in message I think I saw Biff (maybe???) use it a few months ago. I've used it for non-excel files since then. At one time (a couple of days), the site had trouble retrieving files, but that was just a one time thing. If you have files that need to be more secure, www.xDrive.com (now owned by AOL) offers a free service. You can share files with specific parties (who are registered with AOL/xDrive (also free now)). And it could have been Max from Singapore--I don't remember who, I just remember
that I stole it from someone. Jim Cone wrote: Dave, Thanks again, I will check it out. Jim Cone "Dave Peterson" wrote in message I think I saw Biff (maybe???) use it a few months ago. Did somebody call ?? <g Yes, I've used savefile.com regularly for more
than a year now. The site's ok, albeit it had quite a hiccup a couple of months back -- during a change of servers -- where all my archived files and stats were unfortunately wiped out. Things seem to have stabilized since though, and I'm still using it for my archives. -- Max Singapore http://savefile.com/projects/236895 xdemechanik --- "Dave Peterson" wrote in message ... I attributed my "discovery" to Biff instead of you.
(My discovery was to read one of your posts!) (But it (my memory) came back after a little bit--it was a painful process, though.) ps. You may want to look at xdrive.com for your personal backups.
